Load Balancer: spread traffic across your servers

Add a managed load balancer that health-checks and spreads traffic across your own servers in one region.

A Load Balancer sits in front of two or more of your own servers in the same region and spreads incoming traffic across them, with health checks that route around a server that goes down. It's $9/mo and gives you in-region (single data-centre) resilience and horizontal scale.

It is not a CDN, WAF or multi-region/global service — it doesn't cache content, filter attacks, or fail traffic over between regions. It balances your own servers within one location.

Create one

  1. 1Deploy at least two servers in the same region (a load balancer needs targets to balance).
  2. 2Open a server → Networking tab → add a Load Balancer.
  3. 3Add your servers as targets and set the health check and forwarding rules.
  4. 4Point your domain's DNS at the load balancer's IP.
  • It's created from a server's Networking tab, not the cart — you need at least one server first.
  • Health checks stop sending traffic to an unhealthy server automatically and resume when it recovers.
  • For edge caching, that's included free with Web Hosting — the load balancer isn't a CDN.
